Share

Launch Share from the Desktop Client menu or from the Share link on the Welcome page. Use the Share menu to share your Application, Desktop, or a Region of your desktop with the participants in your conference. You can also access the Share options through the icon on the Meeting Center screen.

Sharing has been enhanced in MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing 5.0 to provide Basic Sharing and Advanced Sharing capability.

The Advanced Sharing (in addition to Basic) offers the ability to easily manage participants, chats, and video while sharing.

Auto-hide: From the View menu or clicking the advanced share bar can be set to auto-hide mode, the original desktop size will be restored and the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing sharing bar will become a window on the desktop.

NOTE: If auto-hide is not selected, then the share bar is actually pinned and will share space with the desktop. However, when auto-hide is selected, the share bar will "overlay" the desktop and pause sharing when the share bar is brought back in view (sharing will resume when share bar goes back to auto-hide). This pause may be noticeable by participants as a frozen frame (i.e. while sharing a video) or as an overlay to the shared screen.

Fullscreen Application: When a Windows application goes into fullscreen mode (like a Power Point slideshow), the advanced share bar will go into auto-hide mode.
Multiple Monitors: When multiple monitors are in use, the advanced share bar will appear on the primary monitor and may not be moved to another monitor.

Clicking on the title bar ends Sharing but does not close MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing.

NOTE: The application toolbar will default to the right side of the screen on the monitor that the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing client is using. Depending on your configuration, when multiple monitors are used the advanced share bar may appear on the left side of the screen.
The toolbar will be static. You cannot resize it or move it.

Basic Sharing is equivalent to the functionality from prior release of MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing (prior to 5.0).

When you begin sharing your Application, Desktop or Region, you are prompted for confirmation that you do want to share the item.

	Switch to basic/advanced sharing
	Set auto-hide
	Close sharing

You can also give control of your desktop, region of desktop, or application using remote control. Note that if sharing and remote control are both invoked, sharing remains active after remote control is discontinued.

NOTE: The Share and Help menu, Meeting Center and Recorder/Volume toolbar are hidden when using Advanced sharing. When multiple monitors are in use, the advanced share bar will appear on the primary monitor and may not be moved to another monitor. The basic share bar will appear on whichever monitor the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing client was on prior to sharing.

NOTE: If you are running Windows 8, "Share Desktop" has been renamed "Share Full Screen" and "Share Application" has been renamed "Share Desktop Application".
