Application sharing enables the leader to share applications that are open on his or her computer with conference participants. Participants see a gray screen in their MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing Client window until the leader selects an application that he or she wants to share. After an application is selected, it appears in the participants' screens.
Consider this about application sharing:
Initially, the list shows all the open applications at that time. Only one application can be selected from the list. If you open or close an application after Application Sharing is initiated, the list is automatically updated.
If more than one application is open on your desktop, it is important to minimize or move any applications that are not shared within the screen sharing window. If applications that are not shared are in front, they will block the view of the shared application.
If you want to change your Application Sharing settings, select Preferences from the Tools menu.
If the application you are sharing is minimized, the participants' screens are grayed out until the application is displayed on the screen.
If the application you are sharing is not minimized but has another application in front of it, the participants' screens show a grid pattern.
Once application sharing is started, participants will see nothing until an application is chosen by the leader to share.
You can given control of the application to a conference participant through remote control. If you invoke both remote control and application sharing, application sharing remains active after remote control is discontinued.
NOTE: Windows 8 users:
- "Share Application" has been renamed "Share Desktop Application".
- If
you launch a Windows 8 application while sharing an application in desktop
mode, the Windows 8 application may be shared with the conference.
