Participants Tab

A list of participants appears on this page when an audio conference is in-progress. The list shows the phone number of each participant and their associated name (if available). The icon identifies the conference leader. From this page, you can set the Active Speaker feature to show the participant who is speaking. You can also set call feature options when you schedule a conference.

As the conference leader (or delegate), you can access these conference options from the Participants tab while the conference is in-progress:

• Mute participants

  You can perform any of these actions:

  • Click Mute (at the top of the screen) to mute all participants. If you mouse over this button, you see the Mute All Participants message. Note that the Mute button does not mute the leaders of the conference.

  • Participants who join the conference after the Mute button has been clicked come in with full audio.

  • Click Restore Audio to remove both muting and holding from all participants.

  • Click the Mute button beside the participant's name to add or remove muting from that participant only.

• Put participants on hold

  Click Hold at the top of the screen to place all participants on hold. Participants who join after the Hold button is clicked do not join in a hold state. Note that the Hold button does not put the leaders of the conference on hold.

  Click the Hold button beside the participant's name to take that participant off hold.

  Click Restore Audio to restore audio to all participants (take them off hold and unmute them).

• Drop participants from the conference

  Do one of these actions:

  • Click Drop to end the conference for the selected participant.

  • Click Drop All to end the conference for all participants.

• Add a participant to the conference

   NOTE: If you do not have dial-out privileges, this option does not appear on the page.

  To add a participant:

  1. Type the phone number of the participant in the Number box.

  2. (Optional) Type the name of the participant.

  3. Click Call and the system calls the number. When the participant answers, the participant is added to the conference.

   NOTE: If the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing administrator has set the Dial 1 to join outbound calls option, the caller must dial 1 within the specified time period or the system will drop the call attempt.

• View participant properties With both the installed and Web-based client, you can hover over the participant name and view information about that participant. With the Web-based client, you can learn what OS the participant is running, which can assist you in deciding how to share documents, videos, or other media with that participant.

The Participant tab view is refreshed automatically and will show participants as they join or leave the audio conference.
